About the role: We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a strong DevOps focus to join our Platform team. We're building the cloud platform that runs Pentera from SaaS: an event-driven AWS control plane that manages, upgrades and monitors a fleet of attack nodes running in customer environments. You'll own the full path from design to infrastructure to production, and help us build and operate in an AI-native way. This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable writing backend services and owning the infrastructure, pipelines and observability those services run on. Responsibilities: • Design, build and ship backend services on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, EventBridge), from architecture through production • Own infrastructure as code with Terraform: IAM, queues, CloudFront/WAF, container registries, and deployment and rollback • Build the communication layer between the cloud and customer nodes: authentication, command delivery, status reporting, secure artifact delivery • Improve our CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub) so changes ship to production quickly and safely • Drive observability with Datadog, OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch, and keep it cost-efficient at fleet scale • Take end-to-end responsibility from design to implementation, raise the bar on code quality and operational readiness, and mentor other engineers • Emphasize an AI-native approach by using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) as part of your daily workflow and helping the team get more out of them Requirements • 6+ years of experience building and shipping production backend systems • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, especially serverless and event-driven architectures • Production experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release processes • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems: idempotency, retries, queues, failure handling • A security-minded approach to IAM, secrets and service-to-service authentication • Proven track record of owning features end-to-end, from initial design to production . • Advanced proficiency with AI coding tools in real work Nice to have: • Experience with hybrid SaaS and on-prem products, or with managing fleets of agents or edge devices • Experience with Datadog, OpenTelemetry or large-scale observability • Background in cybersecurity or infrastructure-heavy products • Experience in a high-growth startup environment • DevOps experience as an advantage We are an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to building a diverse and talented workforce.
