Description About Port At Port.io, we are building an open and flexible Agentic Engineering Platform for modern engineering organizations. Following our recent $100M Series C funding round, we are in a phase of rapid hypergrowth with strong enterprise momentum. We act as the central nervous system for engineering, enabling platform teams to unify their stack and expose it as a governed layer through golden paths for developers and AI agents. By combining rich engineering context, workflows, and actions, we help organizations transition from manual processes to autonomous, AI-assisted engineering workflows while maintaining control and accountability. As a product-led company, we believe in building platforms that fundamentally shape how modern engineering organizations operate. Why we’re looking for you: We're looking for a FinOps Engineer to own visibility and accountability for cloud spend across our R&D org. You'll be the person who finds the problem, proves it with data, routes it to the right team, and makes sure it actually gets fixed - you will also use your deep familiarity with the numbers and trends to keep R&D leadership and finance informed. You'll spend as much time in Slack and 1:1s with engineering and DevOps teams as you will in cost dashboards. Success here looks like fewer cost surprises, faster resolution of known issues, correct detection of high value optimization targets, and a monthly narrative that leadership trusts and uses to make decisions. Your responsibilities will include: • Continuously monitor cloud and infrastructure costs (AWS, and any other relevant vendors) to spot inefficiencies, anomalies, and unhealthy trends before they become expensive habits. • Partner with engineering teams and DevOps to investigate flagged costs - understand why a service costs what it costs, not just that it does. • Translate technical cost drivers into business terms: what's driving the number, what it's costing us, and what the fix is worth. • Triage and route identified issues to the correct owning team, with enough context that they can act without a lengthy discovery phase. • Track open cost issues to resolution - follow up, unblock, and confirm the fix actually landed in the numbers. • Own the FinOps reporting format, cadence and methodology: cost trends, savings realized, open risks, and where we're headed. • Build and maintain relationships with vendor/cloud account teams (e.g., AWS, DoiT) to support cost reviews and negotiations. • Help establish tagging, budgeting, and cost-allocation practices that make future issues easier to spot. Who you’ll work with: • You'll report into R&D and work closely with R&D teams and the DevOps team to detect, investigate, and remediate cost issues. • You will work with R&D and Finance leadership to reflect current spend trends, outline our mitigation efforts, and provide financial forecasts. Requirements What we’re looking for: • 5+ years of experience as a FinOps engineer • Working technical literacy: understand cloud billing models (compute, storage, data transfer, managed services) and can read a cost breakdown well enough to ask the right questions • Strong business/financial acumen - comfortable with budgets, trend analysis, ROI framing, and building a compelling narrative from numbers • Experience with cost management/observability tooling (AWS Cost Explorer, DoiT, or similar) • Comfortable owning a recurring leadership-facing deliverable (reporting, forecasting, or similar) end to end • Excellent cross-functional communication skills • Fluent Hebrew and English Nice to have: • Experience working directly with AWS/cloud vendor account teams on cost reviews • Background in vendor management or technical program management • Background as a DevOps engineer working with AWS
