Description
About Port
At Port.io, we are building an open and flexible Agentic Engineering Platform for modern engineering organizations. Following our recent $100M Series C funding round, we are in a phase of rapid hypergrowth with strong enterprise momentum.
We act as the central nervous system for engineering, enabling platform teams to unify their stack and expose it as a governed layer through golden paths for developers and AI agents.
By combining rich engineering context, workflows, and actions, we help organizations transition from manual processes to autonomous, AI-assisted engineering workflows while maintaining control and accountability.
As a product-led company, we believe in building platforms that fundamentally shape how modern engineering organizations operate.
Why we’re looking for you:
We’re looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform team and own the reliability of Port’s production platform. For many of our customers, Port is a critical part of their infrastructure, and they count on it to be reliable and performant.
Your focus will be reliability and observability. You’ll help teams monitor their services efficiently, set best practices for monitoring defaults and high value metrics, define SLOs and error budgets, and standardize how we investigate incidents and learn from them. You’ll be the person who defines what “reliable” means for each service, measures it, and makes sure we keep that promise. Success here looks like fewer and shorter incidents, alerts that people trust, error budgets that guide decisions, and dev teams that ship confidently to production.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for Port’s critical services, together with the teams that own them, and use them to guide release and prioritization decisions
• Evolve our observability stack - metrics, logs, traces, and alerting - so issues are caught before customers notice
• Lead incident response and postmortems - coordinate mitigation and communication during incidents, run blameless postmortems, and track follow-up actions to completion
• Shape and take part in the on-call rotation - runbooks, escalation paths, and alert hygiene for a sustainable on-call experience
• Partner with R&D teams on production readiness - review new services and major changes for reliability, scalability, and operability before launch
• Drive capacity planning and performance work - load testing, finding bottlenecks, and scaling the platform ahead of customer growth
• Strengthen system stability with AI - use Port and our monitoring stack to give incident-response agents the context and tools to investigate incidents, suggest fixes, and resolve them, reducing MTTR and improving how we handle incidents.
Who you’ll work with:
• You’ll report to the Platform team lead and work alongside your Platform team teammates on the infrastructure and delivery foundations that reliability depends on.
• You’ll partner with R&D teams to set reliability targets and improve how their services behave in production.
• You’ll work with FinOps where relevant, to balance reliability and performance with cost.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
• 5+ years of experience in SRE, production engineering, or a DevOps/platform role with clear ownership of production reliability.
• Hands-on experience operating production workloads on Kubernetes in AWS (or a similar cloud provider).
• Strong experience with observability tooling such as New Relic, Sentry, and OpenTelemetry, or similar, including designing meaningful alerts and dashboards.
• Practical experience defining and working with SLIs/SLOs and error budgets.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, such as Terraform and GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, networking fundamentals, and common failure modes of cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Experience operating AI or agent-based systems in production.
• Solid coding skills in at least one language (e.g. Python, Go, or TypeScript/Node.js) for automation and tooling.
• A track record of driving reliability improvements across teams, including without formal authority, and mentoring other engineers.
• Hands-on experience with incident response and postmortems.
• Excellent communication skills, especially under pressure.
• Fluent Hebrew and English.
Nice to have:
• Experience with load and performance testing at scale.
• Experience with chaos engineering or structured failure testing.
• Experience operating databases, queues, or streaming systems in production.
