Description About ThetaRay ThetaRay is a leader in AI-powered Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solutions for banks, fintechs and regulators worldwide. Our mission is to strengthen trust in financial transactions and help our customers grow safely into new markets and products. We are a culture-driven company with a global team across Israel, the UK, the US and Spain. The Role We are looking for a Senior Global Bookkeeper & Payroll Accountant to own the day-to-day bookkeeping for ThetaRay's Israeli, UK and US entities in NetSuite, and to run the monthly payroll cycle for all four of our entities. The role is primarily focused on bookkeeping. As we bring UK and US bookkeeping in-house, you will manage multi-entity, multi-currency accounting end to end and work directly with our external accounting firms abroad. Payroll follows a well-defined monthly cycle: preparing payroll inputs for Israel, the UK, the US and Spain, and processing Israeli payroll in-house. We actively use AI tools and agents to automate routine work, and you will be expected to contribute to these initiatives. The position reports to the Finance Manager and is a full-time, hybrid role. What You'll Be Doing Bookkeeping (Israel, UK, US) • Accounts payable: vendor invoice processing through Dokka, vendor master data, vendor statement reconciliations and communication with vendors. • Payments: prepare the semi-monthly payment runs, verify PO and approval cover in Zip before payment, and handle payments to tax authorities (VAT, withholding tax, National Insurance). • Corporate cards: sync and code Mesh card transactions and receipts. • Bank and cash: bank reconciliations for all entities and currencies; support the weekly cash flow forecast. • Monthly close: accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany balances and recurring journal entries, on the group close calendar. • UK and US entities: keep the books in NetSuite and be the day-to-day contact for our external accountants, who handle statutory filings and financial statements. • Audit: prepare schedules and supporting documents for the annual audits. Payroll (Israel, UK, US, Spain) • Monthly cycle: agree cut-offs with HR, collect payroll inputs (joiners and leavers, salary changes, commissions, benefits, expense reimbursements, reserve duty) and build the monthly payroll master file per entity. • Israel: process payroll in Hashavim (by Hilan), calculate and claim reserve-duty (miluim) payments with National Insurance, and prepare final settlements and Form 161. • UK, US and Spain: send inputs to our local payroll providers, upload Spain payroll and check the results. • Employee lifecycle: payroll, pension and insurance setup for joiners and leavers, together with HR and our pension and insurance agents. • Compliance: keep up with changes in Israeli payroll rates and legislation; answer employee payslip questions. Across Both Areas • Automation: use AI tools in your daily work and help design and maintain AI agents that automate recurring checks. • Ad hoc: finance projects and requests from the Finance Manager and VP Finance. Why Join ThetaRay? • Global scope: own the books for three entities and payroll for four. • Hands-on AI experience: use and build AI agents as part of your day-to-day work, not just read about them. • High visibility: join a small, hands-on finance team where your contribution is visible to senior management. • Meaningful mission: help make the financial system safer for millions of people worldwide. Requirements • 4+ years of experience as a bookkeeper and payroll accountant, preferably in a high-tech company, including hands-on Israeli payroll with Hashavim or Hilan payroll software. • Hands-on experience with NetSuite - must. • Experience with Mesh and Dokka - must. • Experience with multiple entities and multiple currencies, including foreign subsidiaries. • Strong knowledge of Israeli VAT, withholding tax, National Insurance and payroll regulations (pension, recuperation pay, reserve duty, final settlements). • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS). • Fluent English, written and spoken. • Able to work autonomously and own processes end to end; highly organized and accurate; meets close and payroll deadlines. • High level of discretion with confidential salary data.
