Software Engineer - Data Path

About the Role The data-path group provides core components for our products. We design and develop the data plane features for a large-scale distributed system – for example, forwarding information base, quality of service, security and telemetry. We gain a deep understanding of ASIC architectures and work directly with chip SDKs to configure the hardware and implement these features. We're looking for a software engineer with a passion for software development, solid C/C++ skills, and real excitement about the way AI is changing how software gets built. Our product evolves quickly and priorities shift, so we want someone who is easy-going, flexible, energetic, and adaptable to change. Responsibilities • Design, develop and debug data-plane features in C/C++ for a large-scale distributed system • Own features end to end – from design through implementation, testing and production • Make AI tools part of your daily workflow to move faster and increase quality, and help the team discover new ways to use them • Investigate and resolve complex issues across a multi-component system • Collaborate closely with other engineering groups, QA and product teams What We Offer • Work on core technology running in some of the largest networks in the world, including AT&T and Comcast • A team that adopts AI tools early and gives you room to experiment with them Requirements Minimum requirements: • At least 2 years of hands-on software development experience • Proven experience with C or C++ • Enthusiasm for AI – you actively use AI tools in your development work and are eager to explore what they can do next • Easy-going and flexible, comfortable with shifting priorities and quick to adapt to change Advantages: • BSc degree in Computer Science or Engineering • Knowledge of or experience in networking • Experience with Python programming If your experience is close but doesn't fulfill all requirements, please apply.
